GUA SHA

Gua sha is an ancient Chinese healing technique which has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to  improve the circulation of qi and blood within the meridian system. 

 

This technique is performed by gently scraping the skin over the meridian system or an injured area of the body with a short or long strokes to stimulate microcirculation of the soft tissue. 

 

By repetitively scraping the tissue with a gua sha tool usually made from jade , healing can take place when stagnant energy known as qi is release through out the body or the injured area. 

 

Gua sha is commonly used for a variety of conditions such as:
